Who is Joe Damien and how did he become a full time Forex day trader

Hello, my name is Joe Damien. I’m a full-time trader and portfolio manager. I am also a part-time Forex analyst and educator with Forex Lens. I’ll be giving you a brief background on how I became a full-time forex day trader and the challenges I faced and had to overcome to get to where I am today. I’ll also be sharing with you an outline of my curriculum to a Forex 101 course for any beginners looking to get started in Forex trading. Teaching is one of my passions and I am honoured to have this opportunity to work with you.

My Background

I started out working as an accountant, something that I wasn’t too passionate about. I wanted to do something that I really loved. I was introduced one day to the Forex industry through a live webinar from one of the local brokers. The idea of making money without going to the office already appealed to me and then I discovered the rush of adrenaline involved in trading. I felt like I had found my calling and from here the journey began. But don’t let me fool you, it was not the straight-forward or easy journey as I had expected!

I came across a lot of obstacles before becoming a successful full-time trader and as you can probably predict, I blew my first account.

I got so excited and carried away. I opened my first real account without having enough knowledge about what I was doing. I was left with empty pockets and disappointed. At this point I realized, knowledge and practice were going to be essential.

Desperate to claw back what I had lost, I began to read books, and more books and more books on top of that! I used demo accounts to rebuild my confidence. With time, I finally had enough courage to go live on a real account again. But guess what? I failed again! Granted, this account lasted longer than the first, but I was now more desperate than ever to master this market.
So back to the drawing board…

This time I decided to take courses online these helped me highlight some of my previous mistakes and taught me how to develop a successful strategy. They gave me an insight into other people’s experiences. It made me feel better about my own failures and gave me hope.
With knowledge, determination, and a hell of a lot of patience, I finally succeeded in making my account consistently profitable. I can’t explain how good that feels! I am not here to make you a millionaire (only you can do that for yourselves) but what I can do is share with you my experiences and knowledge about the Forex market.
